The discomfort she had known all those years made sleeping difficult and threatened to create an acute condition of insomnia.In addition to the eliminatory diet and daily air-baths, warm (8o°) natural baths were prescribed, accompanied by abdominal massages. Increased physical activity, sleeping-out and a one-a-day enema administered at nine in the morning, were also included in her treatment. The enema was warm (72°) and no more than ten ounces (a large water glass). Since K. R.’s condition was chronic, it was necessary to administer a larger enema than is usually demanded and to begin each bowel movement with these internal baths. In less serious cases a smaller bath (about 4 to 6 ounces, or half a water glass) was generally prescribed to follow bowel movements and serve to increase the effectiveness of the movement. K. R.’s condition, however, demanded that each movement be induced through an enema which she retained for ten to fifteen minutes simply by lying upon her stomach for that period of time. These small enemas are called retentive enemas. However, a major internal bath (1 pint) was given the first day. This major enema is not retained and the lying-down process is unnecessary here.

In three days, it was no longer necessary to induce bowel movements and the internal bath was only used following the evacuation to help to cleanse any remaining waste from the intestines. However, noticeable improvement occurred in less than that time. By the second day, K. R.’s appetite increased under the ministrations of the beautiful surroundings of the hills, daily air and natural baths and a wholesome eliminatory diet which was expanded each day to accommodate her thriving appetite. Her natural baths were taken in the evening and an abdominal pack was donned following the bath and prior to retiring. A pitcher of water was placed at her bed to help her to increase liquid intake. Beyond these, the only remaining therapy was the full knee bending exercise to be performed prior to the internal bath each morning.

R.’s domestic worker suffered from constipation. And I can tell you that having returned to a life of rational eating, employment of nature’s agents and daily exercise, K. R. is no longer a member of the chronic constipation club. In nine years now she has had but half a dozen brief spells of acute sluggishness, most of those within the first year. A small enema and one week of eliminatory dieting were all that was needed to end those.

It seems that cancer of all types is on the rise. My sister died 2 years ago from pancreatic cancer just a couple years after my sister-in-law died of the same disease. Atherosclerosis is a disease that affects blood flow in the arteries due to plaques buildup. Plaques consist of fatty substances, cholesterol, calcium, cellular waste products and fibrin. As plaques build up, the artery wall gets thicker, reducing blood flow and oxygen supply to body cells.

Although atherosclerosis is typically associated with the heart, it can affect any of the arteries in the body. Plaques can totally or partially restrict the blood flow to the brain, heart, arms, legs, kidneys or pelvis.     • Aneurysm. Aneurysm or a bulge in the arterial wall can occur anywhere in the body. Aneurysms are especially dangerous because they often produce no symptoms. But if a bulge bursts, it often results in an internal bleeding, which can be life-threatening.

 

    • Chronic kidney disease. Inadequate blood supply to the kidneys can lead to chronic kidney disease and renal failure – serious conditions, which require dialysis.

 

    • Blindness. If atherosclerosis affects the central retinal artery, an eye occlusion can happen. This means a sudden vision loss in one or both eyes.

 

    • Erectile dysfunction. When arteries leading to the genitals are damaged, the amount of blood flow necessary for normal erection and sexual function cannot be delivered to the penis during sexual intercourse.

 

  • Mesenteric artery thrombosis occurs when blood supply to the stomach and intestines necessary for digestion is restricted. This condition can bring on a severe abdominal pain right after a meal.

Years ago I began to have migraine headaches due to extreme stress. I took antidepressants to ease the stress and the headaches went away. Time and time again they would come back. I ended up taking Ibuprofen like it was candy. Many years later after dealing with severe heartburn for over a year, I was diagnosed with esophagitis. I was warned by my doctor that I had to cut several things from my diet as well as stop taking the pain meds. So I was stuck trying to find a new way to relieve my headaches.

A friend of mine told me about a holistic chiropractor who she said could almost work miracles. I went to this new chiropractor and found out that acupuncture is an awesome treatment for any pain. Unfortunately, the acupuncture doesn’t last, at least it didn’t for me. This new chiropractor introduced me to Chinese White Flower Oil. I found that the Chinese White Flower Oil really helped my pain so I used to keep it at my desk at work. My boss told me that it smelled like Bengay but I told him to hush up. It has more of a wintergreen scent and it works well,relieving muscle and headache pain.

After doing some research and networking with friends, I started using essential oils. I read that peppermint essential oil helps to relieve headaches. I gave it a try and it worked so well for me that now I never go anywhere without my peppermint oil. I have an old neck injury from a car accident that flares up often. The pain in my neck tends to migrate up into the base of my skull then it radiates throughout my head. I usually put pure peppermint essential oil on my temples, forehead, and the temporal skull bones directly behind my ears. Sometimes I even put it on my neck where the pain is emanating from. It really makes the pain go away. The good thing about peppermint oil is that it smells good and you don’t have to worry about smelling like a locker room.

Now, I have no problem putting undiluted peppermint essential oil on my skin but some people might not be able to do that. Some people have sensitive skin or allergies and should dilute the pure peppermint oil with a base oil like coconut. When I put the peppermint essential oil on my temples I have to be careful not to use too much. If it is too much and too close to my eyes, they end up watering for the next hour. Peppermint is effective and very potent! Some spas use iced cloths with peppermint to help their guests relax.

Lavender is another essential oil that can be used for headaches. It has more of a calming effect. I’ve used it on occasion and it helps me to relax. Lavender essential oil is a great stress reliever and can help stress headaches. To help with a stress headache, I suggest putting lavender essential oil in a diffuser nearby and lie down in a semi-dark room. My Mom used to put cold wet washcloths on her forehead.

Eucalyptus essential oil stinks to high heaven but it can help a headache that is combined with a cold and stuffy nose. This works well in a diffuser. The eucalyptus essential oil works to open up the sinuses to help one breathe. It can help with the symptoms of a cold but unfortunately, cannot heal it.

Rosemary essential oil has been used for years to treat headaches. The analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties of Rosemary essential oil are what helps relieve headaches. It can be applied with a base oil or put in a diffuser.

Over the counter medications hold many dangers that most people aren’t aware of. One of the ingredients in many popular pain relievers is acetaminophen. Taking acetaminophen over time can cause liver damage and even liver failure. Liver failure can happen when acetaminophen is taken in large amounts. People who don’t read the labels and warnings are in danger of liver damage or even death. Sometimes acetaminophen is listed as APAP under ingredients.
Ibuprofen is another popular pain reliever. It can relieve pain and inflammation however it can cause stomach issues. I found this out the hard way. Thankfully the damage done to my esophagus is reversible but I have to be careful of what I eat and drink.
